Week 5- Machines and the Minds

"To think is to create" vs. "Machines as the measures of men" (WW pg. 555)

Technology worries me when I think about our day in age when people rely on machines than our own minds. It makes me think of my high school math teachers who wouldn't let me use calculators because she wanted me to use my mind rather than let a machine do it for me. Like, what will happen in the future when we rely on our machines to make our clothes, our books, our food, our LIVES, and all of a sudden machines don't work-- we wouldn't know what to do because we never learned how to sew our own clothes, learn how to cook, pick up a pen, paper and lace pages together, or exersize and eat right to live a longer and healthier life. The power of our minds is much more advanced than any piece of technology we can build.. yes it may be faster, but it was our minds that thought of the machine in the first place! I know that if I put my mind to anything, I can create it, or manipulate the thought.
